DaoBao Releases New NFT Artwork on Foundation
While working on my book, I also started to make digital art using photo collage and glitch work; I also tried my hand at hexadecimal hacking, actually going into the code to alter the base layer
Today’s newsletter is an invitation to my readers to check out my artwork on Foundation. You may visit it here.
Below are some of the images of pieces that recently went to new collectors in direct sales. Sales of my work have been picking up recently. I have sold about eight works in the past month, which is good for someone who is self taught and only beginning to just try out the medium.
My work focuses on reframing perception by altering the images we use to calibrate our ideas of the work. I try to find ways to play with tropes in imagery and alter the way we can imbibe them. I’m influenced by Trash artists like ManicDistopia and contemporary folk artists like Joseph Cornell. My work is primarily done in photography but always with manual corrections by hand using pen stylus and keyboard.
I’m interested in commenting on the greed-induced world of NFT “art” and how it’s artists are often hidden through pseudonymity and also because of the conflict between the audience’s preference for psyche triggers and propaganda instead of the reflective magnetism of aesthetic enjoyment.
We are in the early days of NFT art. My book will come out in the end of October and mention some of the reasons why we will be early for some time.
Hope you enjoy.
I have also a collection of work that has not been minted. You can see some versions on Twitter, which I published today. These pieces can be minted for you 1/1 on an original contract.
