Presenting the First DaoBao Art House Auction
The DaoBao Arthouse Newsletter returns with an auction for a Qing Dynasty Vase
Today’s message is a quick one. Regular readers will have noticed that I have not published anything here for a couple of months.
After some family vacation travel, I returned to Hong Kong and have been working on my book and also handling several new projects for the DaoBao Art House. I have now returned and I am excited to start announcing some of my news.
Here’s the first announcement.
As part of my plan to deal in fine art and antiques, I am running my first ever auction for an NFT that allows the winning bidder to claim an 18th Century Qing Dynasty Vase. The auction is being run on Foundation. There will soon be an independent smart contract and site for this trading / auctions soon.

You can find out more about the vase and its rich history in this twitter thread, or by visiting this landing page link. Notably, it bears the Yongzheng authority stamp, which was common in this version of ceramic work.
Similar pieces to this one, from the Ming Dynasty, have sold for upwards of US$1 million or more, and others have sold for around US$100,00 - $200,000 in previous auctions at Sotheby’s.
The auction reserve price is 38 ETH, valuing this important vase at just over US$50,000. The winner of the auction will be able to use the NFT to claim receipt of the vase, which is currently housed in our research unit in Hong Kong.
The vase has been independently verified and assessed by researchers and by Chubb Insurance. Further questions may be directed to me personally at editorarthouse [at] proton.me. Good luck to the bidders.
